Victor Klemperer's diary from 1933, during the Nazi rise to power, illustrates that people were going about their daily business, building homes, going to work, living their lives. Although they complained about the government and the intrusions upon personal freedom, they did not seem to recognize they were in the middle of a revolution.
Klemperer complains that it is getting more difficult to find good work to help with the house he is building, because of the social unrest. This is a home that is later occupied by government forces as Klemperer and his wife flee for their lives.
Thank you for bringing attention to the fact that our society is on a precipice. This is the time to take action. There are many more of us than them.
Klemperer’s diaries are a must read. I refer back to them often. He had a better sense of the situation than many of his contemporaries. He even recounts ending friendships with people who just couldn’t see what was really happening. But he’s also a reminder, as you note, that daily life continues. We have to find joy and solace in the small things, take it a day at a time.
I want to add one piece to your "Little Green Men" analysis that makes it even sharper: these aren't just anonymous paramilitaries. They're ideologically selected paramilitaries, recruited through a deliberate pipeline.
DHS ran a $200 million recruitment campaign using "Call of Duty"-style videos that targeted gun show attendees, UFC viewers, and people showing "interest in guns and tactical gear." The messaging was explicit: "Protect your homeland and defend your culture." "America has been invaded by criminals and predators. We need YOU to get them out."
They doubled ICE's workforce from 10,000 to 22,000 agents in under a year by selecting for people who see this work as cultural warfare, not law enforcement. The "Little Green Men" aren't just masked—they're self-selected from a recruitment pool primed to see themselves as warriors in exactly the conflict you're describing.
Four days after DHS announced that recruitment success, one of those new agents shot Renee Good in the head.
Your point about the threshold is critical. But I'd push further: when Noem stood behind a podium reading "ONE OF OURS / ALL OF YOURS" after Good's killing, she wasn't just announcing collective punishment. She was broadcasting doctrine with a 160-year American genealogy—the same logic that burned Tulsa, erased Rosewood, and staffed the Border Patrol with Klansmen at its 1924 founding.
This isn't imported Russian hybrid warfare adapted for domestic use. It's homegrown American racial terror with a new operational tempo. The hybrid warfare framework is useful, but the playbook is older than Putin.
Thank you for this! Excellent points. You’re absolutely right that there’s a long, American lineage here. I think they are also learning lessons from their Russian benefactors, though, about waging war under a target’s threshold of response.
Emerikan blitzkrieg is here. I want Zelensky to come to Philly July 4, have Jimmy Kimmel or whoever pull a big Nobel prize out of a big Cracker Jack box for the biggest maga parody in the world, and present in front of America
Heard that a confidential source within the Minnesota government said they were concerned that the national guard would either escalate the situation or possibly even be sympathetic ICE, which would obviously defeat the purpose. Not sure if this is actually true.
FYI there were limited MN National Guard patrols paired with MN State Police today on ramps leading into / out of downtown MPLS. Walz is using emergency powers carefully and appropriately so as to not give Trump an excuse to invoke the Insurrection Act. As it turned out today, they were not needed to quell civil unrest. Walz likely cannot use MNG to stop ICE operations without crossing a red line.
The insurrection act would do no more than is already being done. If the military is deployed, at least they’re professionals. Ice is randomly killing people.
This is fundamentally not true. The Insurrection Act gives the sitting President sweeping powers to massively suspend civil rights, rights against surveillance, search, seizure, and military occupation. Before making dismissive statements about what "professionals" would do, remember that soldiers also are trained to do one thing. Kill other humans. In the case of the insurrection, the entire capabilities of the U.S. military would be turned against the people, crossing a red line in the snow.
Well, which part of those things is he not doing now? There’s little to no civil rights or due process being practiced by ICE, DOJ,FBI and CBP. There is already malpractice regarding search warrants and surveillance—ICE doesn’t carry search warrants. People are being killed without rights.
This article is describing what I’m saying in detail yet you’re waiting for an announcement. It’s not coming. They’re doing all the things you fear but you don’t fight back because you didn’t hear the words. It’s already very late to fight back.
Who’s not fighting back? Those who think it is bad now, martial law is much worse. There are infinite levels of additional physical, emotional, economic, legal, and psychological pain levels that are enabled by the invocation of the IA. Check the facts. Also, just saying Julie. I am not someone sitting on the sidelines so please keep it civil. No one purports to question others’ commitment to solutions from this end.
No desire to lack civility with you. None of us know exactly how it all plays out, even those creating the situation. Using history as my guide may be misplaced due to the new technology, that’s fair. But really I’m seeing a whole lot of folks IRL looking the other way and hoping to survive and I suspect that’s not how we survive.
Until this moment, I didn’t associate the Gerasimov Doctrine with what is going on in the US, but I can see the connection now. I haven’t been sitting around waiting to act until things get worse, but many Americans are. I don’t know what it’s going to take to get them to push back!
There are a huge variety of tactics we're not using yet. Read '198 Methods of Nonviolent Action' which is online in many places. Also read From Dictatorship to Democracy by Gene Sharp, Blueprint for Revolution by Srdja Popovic and Pranksters vs. Autocrats by Popovic & McLennen. All full of great ideas to topple the support that keeps the few sadists at the top in place. I also wonder MN & other blue states can change payroll deductions to redirect federal income taxes to a state holding fund instead.
Excellent piece. Hybrid warfare works by staying below the threshold of coordinated response. Information ops, economic pressure, lawfare, paramilitary ambiguity—all designed to prevent recognition of the pattern. Minnesota isn't escalation toward civil war; it's civil war operating through deniability. The regime wins when defenders wait for formal declarations that strategic ambiguity prevents.
It is absolutely getting more dynamic and kinetic every day. The resistance will not allow ICE to push very much further, and they are becoming smarter about how they interact and engage every day.
Let's not forget Google, Microsoft, apple, PayPal and all the apps that are data mining and selling our info and souls. This is by design. We have become numb and dependent
"Trump has followed this same playbook in California, Illinois, and now Minnesota."
Colorado has its hand up too, waiting to be recognized:
Space Force moved out of state to Alabama. NCAR defunded. FEMA funding for floods and wildfire recovery denied. Previously approved funding for clean water pipeline to Boebert's constituents shot down.
Thank you. I’ve been looking for this. I’ll check the archive. We need to know how to organize an underground. How to create communication. It’s been done. We can do it.
I totally agree with you. This is a great example.
We need to put pressure on Senators right now. Write letters telling them not to vote for DHS. Respectful letters. They need to feel the pressure of the people. Stop the Gestapo funding now!

Have Congress officially ask the regime to release ( to the special committee) the TRANSCRIPTS OF CALLS between Trump and Putin.
If there's anything to be hidden then we will all see it !!!
Ooh, I like that. 😈
All calls have not been recorded

Definitely.
Just subscribed. Thanks for calling my attention to your work!
Thanks for reading mine! I am glad I found your substack as well!
Except he wasn't a new agent. He was career border patrol - a seasoned nazi enforcer.
Yes, they are using new tools (gamer aesthetics) but the alt right to CBP pipeline goes back to its origins, and is deeply connected to the KKK.
I wrote about that yesterday.

10yrs ain't “new”
He's showing the way.
Yeah, they're largely Proud Boys and "pardoned" J6ers, with maybe a few 3%ers throw in for good measure.

If conflict is already underway, what peaceful mechanisms exist to de-escalate before it becomes kinetic?
I'm afraid we're past the de-escalation stage.
Why hasn’t Walz called up his national guard. By waiting he is risky another states national guard to be deployed to MN.
Heard that a confidential source within the Minnesota government said they were concerned that the national guard would either escalate the situation or possibly even be sympathetic ICE, which would obviously defeat the purpose. Not sure if this is actually true.
Surprising since these are their neighbors & their community. Obviously, they would know their reaction better than me. Thanks for setting me straight
I think this article might answer your question:

He has called up the National Guard.
He's activated the Guard on 01/08/26 with Executive Order 26-01:

That last sentence is the ticket. We should not be funding the terrorism of ourselves!

It is already kinetic.
Is this as kinetic as it can get? How close are we to the level of kinetic that is possible here?
Good question.
From what I read and hear, it will get much more kinetic. I hope not, but the oligarchy “new world order” plans have a schedule and structure already.
Doesn’t mean they will win.
Unfortunately, I think you’re right. I don’t think they can win if we put up a fight though.
It is absolutely getting more dynamic and kinetic every day. The resistance will not allow ICE to push very much further, and they are becoming smarter about how they interact and engage every day.
So, I think close.
